Membership requirements

Membership of the Sri Lanka Institute of National Tourist Guide Lecturers (SLINTGL) is open to individuals who are professionally qualified and licensed as National Tourist Guide Lecturers by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). Applicants are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and conduct while actively contributing to the development of Sri Lanka’s tourism industry.

To become a member, applicants must:

  • Hold a valid National Tourist Guide Lecturer licence issued by the SLTDA.
  • Have successfully completed the National Tourist Guide Lecturer Programme conducted by the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (SLITHM) or meet the qualifications recognized by the SLTDA.
  • Submit the prescribed membership application together with the required supporting documents.
  • Pay the applicable membership fee as determined by the Institute.
  • Agree to abide by the Constitution, Code of Ethics, and Rules and Regulations of SLINTGL.

Once approved, members gain access to professional development programmes, networking opportunities, industry representation, and a wide range of services provided by Sri Lanka’s premier professional body for National Tourist Guide Lecturers.
